Continuing a long tradition of community service along Troxelville Road, the Port Ann Wesleyan Youth group hit the pavement Wednesday night for a semi-annual trash pickup event that spans more than two decades.
The church partnered with the PA Adopt a Highway Litter Control program 20 years ago with the promise to maintain a two-mile stretch of Troxelville Road along the front of the church. Nine of our youth, geared u with orange vests, gloves and trash bags, took to the street and collected quite a bit of litter.
The group then enjoyed some ice cream at Jack’s Mountain Freeze before being shuttled back to the church.
Next up for the Youth Group is a special kick-off celebration at 6 p.m. Saturday at the church.
