Welcome to this week’s online lesson. Catch up with previous lessons here.
Let’s kick things off with this powerful older song from Casting Crowns:
Please continue to hold up Pastor Paul and the Sheets family as they continue the grieving process and planning for the future.
Julianna is officially off crutches, but still has a ways to go with recovery from her knee injury/surgery. Sammy is on quarantine due to being in close contact to someone who tested positive for COVID.

This week, we performed our annual spring roadside trash pickup along Troxelville Road. Snagging every piece of trash along a two-mile stretch of road in a short period of time is nearly impossible for someone to do him or herself. However, we are blessed by a youth group that has risen to the challenge of cleaning up this stretch for more than 25 years.
We do it via teamwork in the name of Christ, cleaning up our corner of God’s kingdom to honor him and impact the community.
Teamwork is a critical part of any ministry or outreach, and is a topic mentioned in the Bible on numerous occasions. One of the most referenced portions of the Bible on this subject is from Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (NKJV):
Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor.
For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up.
Later in the same passage, we get more good visual object lessons about the importance of working together from Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NKJV):
Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
There is a father-daughter YouTube ministry team that puts out videos using everyday object lessons to illustrate important Bible concepts. They have a few cool experiments that are worth checking out:
For us as Port Ann Wesleyan youth group leaders, we see this put in action every yard sale we tackle, every camp experience we participate in and every VBS program or other community outreach ministry at our church — including the twice-per-year trash pickup event.
Thank you for your efforts in serving the Lord. We are excited about the impact we can have for God, together, in the coming weeks, months and years. Here are some more photos from last night’s trash pickup event:
