Port Ann Wesleyan engages the community in annual ‘Log Cabin Christmas’ event

The Port Ann Wesleyan Church was well-represented recently at the Middleburg community “Log Cabin Christmas” event.

The Port Ann Wesleyan children’s ministry and youth group ran a pork sandwich stand as a fundraiser and opportunity to interact with the community as a church group. Handmade ornaments were given out for free throughout the night, and information about upcoming church activities and services was attached. The fundraiser was a success, but perhaps even more important was the visibility within the community — an opportunity to fellowship with friends, neighbors and others.

For the first time this year, the Port Ann Wesleyan Church was also asked to provide a band of merry roving carolers to share Christmas tunes and have even more impact within the community based event.

Five church members joined Pastor Paul Sheets in serenading the crowds with popular Christmas tunes rewritten with a message of Jesus’ first coming.
