Nineteen men and boys represent PAW at annual retreat

Nineteen men & boys represented Port Ann Wesleyan at the 16th Annual WPA Men’s Retreat held in the Clearfield area on the farm of retired pastors Joe & Arlene Rohrbacker.

The event featured a full day of competitions in archery, corn hole, fishing, horse shoes, muzzleloader, pistol, .22 rifle, skeet, and checkers.

We also enjoyed early Saturday devotions from our Retreat Director, Pastor Mike Fisher (Brookside Wesleyan, Julian), a Saturday Night concert and testimony by Jonathan White of Canton, Ohio, plus an early Sunday Morning outside Worship Service with Pastor Paul Sheets (Port Ann Wesleyan) leading.

New to the camping experience this year was a newly erected pavilion where the cooking, meals, concert and table competitions were held.

As always this Men’s Retreat allows men and boys to reconnect with friends from across the Western PA District, to get caught up with the latest events in the life of the dozen or more churches represented.

Pastor Paul wants to encourage more of the men and boys of Port Ann to place this annual event onto their next year’s “MUST DO” list!  The dates are September 14-16, 2018.

Much appreciation goes to our guys who went beyond the “finger foods” offer at the retreat for Saturday morning and provided our own eggs & bacon & fried potatoes!  And somebody needs to ask where all the Fried Fish Fillets came from for the late Friday Night snack time!!

We thank the Lord for His protection during the weekend, from the traveling to and from, the multiple locations for shooting, and the trails enjoyed by riders with ATVs.

We look forward to next year’s event with great anticipation!
