Award-winning journalist and inspirational writer Tricia Kline visited Port Ann Wesleyan on Wednesday, May 23, to share some of the stories from her book, “On Borrowed Time: Stories of Unlikely Survivors and the Grace That Conquers All.”

The book highlights the biblical story of King Hezekiah, his plea to God from his deathbed for more time and how his 15 extra years affect his legacy. It also includes stories from a variety of people who had been struggling in sin but given a new lease on life thanks to God during a near-death experience.

Tricia’s message covered a variety of important points on how to make the most of the time God has given us, using Bible verses to illustrate each point. As she shared, each heartbeat we feel within our own bodies is a reminder that God has something yet in store for our lives, and we need to live with purpose in sharing God’s story and grace with others. She also emphasized the importance of controlling our thoughts and words to best represent God’s will and positively impact others.

The book was inspired, among other things, by a contemporary Christian song by Jason Gray titled “Good to Be Alive.”
