AWANA ministry enjoys outdoor adventure at R.B. Winter State Park

Port Ann Wesleyan Children’s Director Robin Kratzer and her AWANA team took nearly 20 kids on a special field trip and picnic to R.B. Winter State Park’s Halfway Dam in mid-July.

The kids enjoyed a short hike along a small mountain creek lined with mountain laurel and even met a turtle near the trail. After a big picnic lunch in a mountain stone pavilion, everyone enjoyed the cool waters of Halfway Lake for a time of swimming, sand castle building and fellowship.

On the way home, the kids were treated to ice cream at Amy’s Frosty Freeze in Mifflinburg.

We want to thank all the families that let their children enjoy our AWANA ministry each Wednesday throughout the school year and our team of workers for shining the light of Jesus through Bible lessons, games, songs and other activities. The leadership team met Monday and planned out a new, exciting year of AWANA, which will begin Aug. 30 at Port Ann Wesleyan.
