High school art teacher and Port Ann Wesleyan member Wes Wagner continued his regular tradition of offering a holiday chalk drawing at the church recently.
He has offered a Christmas chalk drawing most years dating back decades, combining a quickly created chalk sketch done live in front of the audience and then revealing a whole new element via blacklight that brings to life a drawing hidden in the picture.
The Wagner family dealt with a house fire a number of years ago and Wes lost many of his creations at that time. In an effort to recreate one of the sketches, he felt God’s direction in creating a new visual … focusing on the shepherd and the heavenly host that visited them in the fields announcing the newborn king.
